Wholesale Growers to the Trade and Retail Sales to the Public
Heartwood Nursery has specialized in the propagation of trees, shrubs, select perennials, and Hollies native to the eastern Piedmont and transitional regions for 35 years, focusing on hard-to-propagate woody plants. We propagate hundreds of native species and are a national leader in propagating native and select nonnative Holly.
In addition to propagating for the wholesale and retail trade, we’ve propagated for the U.S. National Arboretum, arboreta across the country, the U.S. National Park Service, and environmental organizations.
We also specialize in custom-growing starter plant material to suit the needs of the wholesale horticulture industry. This is accomplished in a range of containers, from 2.5-inch peat pots and quarts to trade one and three gallons.
Seed propagation is January through March. Cutting propagation begins in March and continues through January of the following year.
